How to combine images into one file
- Choose two or more images, or drop them onto the canvas. Imported images start in a horizontal row with matching heights.
- Drag each image to arrange it horizontally or vertically. Use the width, height and rotation controls for precise adjustments; width and height keep the original aspect ratio.
- Choose PNG for a transparent background, or choose JPEG and a solid background color. Select Export to download one merged image; the export crops to the image content.
Choose how to combine your images
Merge images side by side
For before-and-after comparisons or product views, import your images in the order you want. They start in a left-to-right row at matching heights. Adjust their positions and export one file.
Merge PNG images with a transparent background
For design assets and overlays, select Transparent under Background and PNG under Format. Position each layer, then export. Transparent gaps remain transparent in the PNG output.
Combine screenshots into a long image
For instructions or notes, drag screenshots below one another, using X and Y fields for alignment. This is manual stacking: ImgMerge does not detect or remove overlapping screenshot content.
Image merger or panorama stitcher?
An image merger places pictures together on a canvas. A panorama stitcher matches overlapping scenes and blends their seams. ImgMerge supports manual image stitching and freeform layouts; it does not perform automatic panorama alignment, screenshot deduplication or AI image generation.
| Format | Transparency | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| PNG | Supported with Transparent background | Screenshots, text and transparent layers |
| JPEG | Not supported; choose a solid background | Photos with a solid background; adjustable JPEG quality |
Frequently asked questions
How do I combine multiple images into one file?
Choose or drag in multiple images. Drag to move, use the wheel to zoom, hold Shift + wheel to rotate, and Alt + wheel to adjust opacity. Then click Export or Copy.
Can I merge JPG and PNG images together?
Yes. Import JPG and PNG images together, arrange them on the canvas, then export one PNG or JPEG. Other import formats depend on browser decoding support. PNG can preserve transparency; JPEG cannot.
Are my images uploaded, and does the website use analytics?
Image files are decoded and merged in your browser, without uploading them to a server. The website loads Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics for usage measurement, so local image processing does not mean the page makes no network requests.
Is ImgMerge free and does it add a watermark?
ImgMerge is free to use, requires no account and exports images without adding a watermark.
How do I merge pictures vertically or side by side?
Images initially appear side by side at the same height. For a vertical image, drag each picture below the previous one, or adjust its X and Y position. Vertical stacking is manual; the tool does not automatically stitch overlapping panoramas.
How do I preserve a transparent background?
Select Transparent under Background and PNG under Format, then export. JPEG does not support transparency; choose a solid background color when exporting JPEG.
Are there image size or browser limitations?
Image capacity depends on available device memory and browser canvas limits. Very large images or many layers may fail to import or export. Use smaller images or fewer layers if this happens. Clipboard copying requires HTTPS and a browser that supports image clipboard access; downloading is an alternative.
